hi, I’m Emily!

I’m a multilingual communications specialist with a Ph.D. in Linguistics and extensive experience in content creation, scientific communication, and community engagement. A proven leader in academic institutions, the educational technology sector, and DEI-focused community groups, I’m skilled at synthesizing complex information for a general audience and fostering stakeholder connections for impactful initiatives. Long story short, I love setting the scene for meaningful communication and connection.

During my PhD, I investigated the social and cognitive factors that impact bilingual language processing. I also taught and developed curricula for 700+ learners in multiple countries (South Korea, Ecuador, U.S.) on courses in linguistics, cognitive science, English and Spanish. As a producer for a grassroots documentary team, I co-developed and pitched a TV series spreading awareness about linguistic diversity and discrimination in the U.S. Most recently, I worked as a public-facing content creator at the EdTech company Mango Languages, where I got to create fun “edutaining” content for the language learning community in the form of blogs, podcasts, and videos.

Outside of work, I’m a dancy human with a passion for travel and nature. You can catch me organizing local dance performances, planning my next international adventure, or simply swimming in a lake (it’s the little things, right?!).
